Regional Qualifier Las Vegas Tournament Meta Report

Heya everyone! The Las Vegas Regional Qualifier took place this past weekend, with over 1,600 players battling it out for a spot in Day 2 and a shot at the championship. As the second Western Regional following Bologna, many players came prepared, having studied the European meta and adapting their decks based on what performed well overseas.
In this article, we’re breaking down both Day 1 and Day 2 of the Regional Qualifier, how Day 1 played out, what rose to the top, and the standout decklists that made deep runs in the event.
Prizes

Day 1 Meta Distribution

- Draven Glorious Executioner remains the most popular choice in Regionals, holding the top spot in meta representation with 216 players and a 15% meta share. There are currently two main Draven builds: the midrange version built around Darius, Kai’Sa, and Spinning Axes, and the “Miracle” version, which gains access to Called Shot, Ezreal, and Rhasa. Despite being the most-played deck in Bologna, Draven failed to place in the top 4, showing that plenty of decks in the current meta can compete with and beat it.
- Irelia Blade Dancer has now overtaken Kai'Sa Daughter of the Void in meta representation compared to Bologna. While Kai'Sa Daughter of the Void struggled in Bologna, it still remains a popular choice in Las Vegas. This time around, players have leaned more toward Irelia Blade Dancer, largely due to her stronger conversion rate in Bologna and managing to make it all the way to the top 4.
- Ezreal’s win in Bologna definitely reinforced the community’s belief in the deck’s hidden strengths. It plays a slower, control-focused game, but its flexibility and the number of lines available each turn make it an excellent choice for skilled players who can pilot it efficiently. Vex also quickly became a staple after Alanzq ran three copies, making combat extremely awkward and difficult for opponents to navigate.
- In Las Vegas, Annie saw a massive drop in popularity compared to Bologna. She was one of the top five most-played decks there, but has now fallen all the way down to 23rd place in Las Vegas. She did have a high conversion rate in Bologna going into day 2, but we didn’t see any Annie players make it past top 32.
- Interestingly, there’s been a noticeable increase in Ornn Fire Below the Mountain and Lux Lady of Luminosity players this time around. The main reason is likely the Metal card chase—especially Ornn—even though it was the worst-performing deck in Bologna.
- Once again, Garen finds himself at the bottom of the meta representation list.
Day 2 Conversion

- Draven Glorious Executioner players had an outstanding Day 1 showing, finishing with a 37% Day 2 conversion rate. This mirrors its performance in Bologna and further proves that Draven remains one of the most consistent picks for players aiming to reach Day 2.
- Irelia Blade Dancer once again outperformed Kai'Sa Daughter of the Void in Day 2 conversion, helping explain why many players moved away from Kai’Sa and shifted toward Irelia following the Bologna results.
- Rek'Sai Void Burrower also impressed, ending with a 27.3% conversion rate—the second highest in Las Vegas. This is a massive improvement compared to Bologna, where only 6 players made Day 2, resulting in just a 6% conversion rate.
- A strong number of Viktor Herald of the Arcane, Ezreal Prodigal Explorer, Azir Emperor of the Sands, and Lucian Purifier players successfully advanced to Day 2. Annie, however, struggled to keep up, with only 3 players managing to make the cut.
- On the other hand, Rumble Mechanized Menace, Leona Radiant Dawn, Lee Sin Blind Monk, and Garen Might of Demacia failed to convert entirely, with zero players from those decks reaching Day 2.
Top 8

- 5 Draven Glorious Executioner, 1 Ezreal Prodigal Explorer, 1 Irelia Blade Dancer, 1 Miss Fortune Bounty Hunter, and 1 Jax Grandmaster at Arms all managed to break into the top 8 after a grueling 13 rounds of Swiss.
- Meanwhile, all Kai'Sa Daughter of the Void players were eliminated during Swiss, once again falling short of reaching the top 8.
- One of the biggest surprises of the event was Jax Grandmaster at Arms, which pushed its way into the top 8 and proved that off-meta picks can still go the distance in a highly competitive field.
- Draven, however, was the true star of Las Vegas. The deck claimed 5 of the top 8 spots and went on to completely take over the playoffs, eliminating the remaining decks and leaving us with a top 4 made up entirely of Draven players. We even saw an even split between the variants, with 2 Miracle Draven and 2 mid-range Draven builds.
- The finals came down to Miracle Draven versus mid-range Draven, and after a series of extremely close games, mid-range Draven came out on top to take the win.

Mid-range Draven takes it all, beating Miracle Draven in the final match. This deck heavily relies on winning combats to get access to card draw, keeping the engine running in the late-game. The list has multiple aggressors like Kai’Sa and Darius, capable of putting pressure on the opposing player and winning combats to put the Draven player ahead.
We also have tools to help us win combat or protect our units, like Fight or Flight, Rebuke, and Spinning Axe, making it even harder for the opposing player to take back the board. Falling Star has been a popular inclusion to kill off units we can’t reach through combat, especially on Reaver’s Row battlefield.

Miracle Draven finished in second place, an incredible run that went toe-to-toe with the mid-range version in the finals. The key difference between the two builds is that Miracle Draven cuts all copies of Darius, Kai’Sa, and Ferrous Forerunner, instead leaning into low-cost draw cards like Called Shot and Ezreal. Because the deck heavily recycles Chaos runes, running 3 copies of Seal of Discord is essential to maintain your Rune resources and avoid falling behind.
The game plan revolves around playing multiple cards each turn to reduce the cost of Battering Ram, allowing it to enter the battlefield early as a powerful win condition that can quickly overwhelm the opponent. Since the deck constantly plays and discards cards, the trash fills up fast, enabling Rhasa the Sunderer to be played for a heavily reduced cost—often for 0 Energy. This lets you develop a major threat without spending Energy, freeing those resources for additional plays and giving you a huge tempo advantage.
Bushwhack adds another explosive layer to the strategy, letting your units enter Ready and immediately impact the board. This opens the door for massive swing turns where you develop threats and apply pressure all at once, making it difficult for opponents to recover.

The Jax deck is built around equipment, wanting to empower his units and make them harder targets for the opponent to deal with. When Jax, Unmatched is in play, your equipment gain the Quick-Draw keyword, meaning we can play them directly from hand. This makes Brutalizer an insanely strong play during defense, giving your unit a +3 Might boost to keep it alive.
We want to win the board presence with this deck, gain an edge in combats with our weapons, and use combat tricks like Counter Strike to keep opponents from easily getting a kill on key units in play.

The Ezreal deck is all about outvaluing the opponent in the late-game, having a built-in draw mechanic in your Legend whenever you choose two of the opponent’s units or gear, perfect for keeping the resource engine running and having different lines to take throughout the game.
You’re mostly trying to control the board with the multiple removal plays you have at your disposal, trying to slow down the opponent until you get to a point where they can’t keep up with you anymore. Ezreal Prodigy + Called Shot can be insane value and a great way to find the cards you need to start setting up your strategy. Arcane Shift gives you 3 damage but can be a strong combo with cards like Ezreal Prodigy, Fizz Trickster, Thousand-Tailed Watcher, and Mindsplitter to reactivate their On Play abilities.
