9 Most Expensive Competitive Origins Cards

Hey everyone! With Riftbound Origins and Proving Grounds now released, players are scrambling to collect cards and build competitive decks for their locals and even prepare for regionals. The challenge, however, is that with limited product availability, getting the cards you need hasn’t been easy. On top of that, a few dominant decks in the meta have caused prices for certain cards to skyrocket.
For this list, I won’t be including any alternate art cards. Instead, I’ll focus on cards that are currently high in price, mainly due to their popularity in the competitive scene. Let’s dive in!
9- Baited Hook ~$38

Kicking things off at number nine is none other than Baited Hook—a Gear card that completely reshapes how certain decks play. It introduces an entirely new win condition and is expected to remain a powerful option in future metas as more cards enter the game.
Its ability to kill one of your units, then look at the top five cards of your deck and play a unit with up to 1 more Might than the one you killed, opens up creative combo setups and encourages specialized deckbuilding around it.
Currently, both Viktor and Darius decks are making strong use of the Baited Hook strategy.
8- Thousand-Tailed Watcher ~$43

The Thousand-Tailed Watcher is an Epic-rarity card that stands out as one of the strongest finishers in the game, capable of turning the tide in your favor. Its effect reduces all of your opponent’s units by -3 Might, often opening the door to conquer two battlefields in a single turn. Combined with the Accelerate keyword, Thousand-Tailed Watcher makes for a powerful late-game closer.
Both Fury Mind Kai’Sa and Mind Order Viktor decks, two of the most dominant forces in the current meta, rely on Thousand-Tailed Watcher as a key win condition, driving its price steadily upward. We’ve also seen Mind Chaos Teemo decks running Watcher; the card is just too strong for Mind domain decks to ignore.
7- Whiteflame Protector ~$58

Coming in next is Whiteflame Protector, an Epic-rarity card capable of setting up massive battlefield swings. Its +8 Might boost can turn any unit into a powerhouse, easily securing kills and scoring points. What makes it even more dangerous is its synergy with cards that can ready it like First Mate, allowing you to give the +8 Might to Whiteflame Protector itself, turning it into a 16-Might unit that can immediately attack a battlefield.
Its high price isn’t just due to its rarity, but also its prominence in Master Yi decks—the top contender in the Origins meta, rivaling Kai’Sa. Beyond that, Whiteflame Protector sees strong play across several Green decks, including Ahri, Lee Sin, and Leona.
6- Showstopper ~$66

Showstopper carries a hefty price tag, and for good reason—it’s a crucial card in Sett decks. As a Signature Spell, it can only be played alongside the Sett Legend, giving you the power to buff a unit and move it to a battlefield for just 1 Energy. This spell not only grants the unit +1 Might, but also lets you push for a battlefield conquest while keeping your unit safer thanks to Sett’s ability.
Sett is one of the strongest Legends in the meta, despite being overshadowed by Kai’Sa and Master Yi decks. However, Showstopper has proven to be an essential card in this deck, allowing you to attack with your buffed units immediately can put you ahead in the game and, most importantly, help you catch up to the opponent.
5- Icathian Rain $73

Another Signature Spell with a steep Price is Icathian Rain, which has quickly become a strong board control card for Kai’Sa decks. You’re dealing 2 damage 6 times, capable of targeting different units to get multiple kills with a single card. It’s proven a strong answer for decks that can go wide like Viktor, shutting down their entire game plan.
4- Dazzling Aurora ~$80

We’re breaking past the $80 mark with Dazzling Aurora! This card has become a popular inclusion in decks like Miss Fortune and Master Yi, offering a completely different game plan centered around ramping early to play Dazzling Aurira as early as possible and start cheating out high-cost units at the end of your turn. Each turn, Dazzling Aurora provides immense value by playing a powerful unit, allowing you to gradually outscale and outvalue your opponent as the game goes on.
Dazzling Aurora decks have also proven to be strong counters to Kai’Sa strategies, so much so that many Kai’Sa lists have started running Thermo Beam specifically to deal with it.
3- Kai’Sa Survivor ~$80

With the Kai’Sa deck dominating the Origins meta, it’s not surprising that the 4-cost Kai’Sa champion costs a lot to buy. This version of Kai’Sa is stronger than as it costs less to play and has the Accelerate keyword, capable of attacking on the turn she’s played to go for an aggressive mid-game and score points.
Kai’Sa Survivor is also a value champion, managing to conquer a battlefield with her means you get to draw a card. The aggression alongside the card draw has given the Mind Order Kai’Sa deck a massive aggressive boost in the mid-game while ensuring you don’t fall behind as the game stretches out.
2- Time Warp ~$91

Time Warp has seen a sharp rise in price after players discovered just how powerful it can be, especially against slower, ramp-focused decks. Decks like Kai’Sa and Ahri have transformed Time Warp into an alternative win condition, using it to gain an extra turn, score crucial points, and completely lock out opponents from responding on their next turn.
Its price, however, has been highly volatile—just yesterday, it was nearly $10 higher. Time Warp is very much a meta-dependent card, thriving when it can counter specific late-game strategies. If the meta shifts away from decks it preys on, expect its value to drop significantly.
1- Deadbloom Predator ~$92

And finally, taking the top spot is none other than Deadbloom Predator! This Epic-rarity card has become a staple inclusion in Body Domain decks such as Master Yi, Miss Fortune, and Volibear. At 8 cost with 8 Might and the Deflect keyword, Deadbloom Predator can be played directly onto an occupied battlefield to immediately start a combat. This powerful ability lets Body decks conquer battlefields, secure points, and stall opposing strategies, buying crucial time to dominate the late game.
Deadbloom Predator also pairs well with Dazzling Aurora, allowing you to cheat it into play from your Gear and instantly swing a battlefield in your favor.
