How to Play

The Calm Body Lee Sin deck thrives on buffing units to set up stronger attack turns and even make it harder for the opposing player to conquer a battlefield. The deck has multiple cards that can buff your units alongside your Leader’s ability, but we also have cards that rely on paying a unit’s buff as a cost to activate their effect. The two effects complement one another to push the deck to the next level.

Legend

Lee Sin Blind Monk

You can pay 1 Energy and tap Lee Sin Blind Monk to give one of your units +1 Might. This only works on a unit with no Might buffs, so we have to be mindful of that so as not to waste Energy.

The Lee Sin Might boost enables us to conquer a battlefield more easily or to reliably activate certain abilities that require you to pay a buff.

Champion

Lee Sin Centered

By paying 1 Energy and returning a Body Rune, Lee Sin Centered can join the board Ready, capable of immediately moving to a battlefield and conquering it. Lee Sin Centered synergizes with your buffed units, giving those on the battlefield he’s at a +2 Might boost. The Might boost ensures you conquer or defend a battlefield and can keep your other units safe from your opponent’s attacks, forcing them to commit a stronger attack to take over a battlefield.

Battlefields

Monastery of Hirana
Targon's Peak
Grove of the God-Willow

When you conquer Monastery of Hirana, you can spend a buff to draw a card. This will mostly depend on your hand state and where it’s worth spending a buff to gain that extra draw for the later game. Grove of the God-Willow is another draw battlefield that requires you to hold, and since deck has a lot of tanky units and defensive spells, it shouldn’t be too hard to get access to the card draw.

Since we want to develop units on the board to build a presence, Targon’s Peak is great to ready 2 of our Runes, enabling you to play spells to defend your Battlefield.

Holding a Battlefield

Stalwart Poro
Wielder of Water
Wizened Elder

Stalwart Poro, Wielder of Water, and Wizened Elder are all units that can self-buff to become harder targets to kill. Stalwart Poro’s Shield keyword makes him a great blocker to hold a battlefield. Wielder of Water, he gains +2 Might when he attacks or defends, turning him into a 4 Might unit.

As for Wizened Elder, he requires some assistance from you to activate his ability. You have to buff him through one of your cards to trigger his effect to gain a +1 Might. So, if you give Wizened Elder +1 Might with your Legend’s ability, he becomes a 6 Might unit.

Might Buffs

Mask of Foresight

Mask of Foresight enables stronger turns when you’re attacking or defending a battlefield with one unit. This Gear can give a +1 Might to your attacker or defender, as long as it’s the only one on the battlefield. The longer it sticks on the board, the more value you’re gaining from Mask of Foresight.

Discipline
Stand United
Pit Rookie

Discipline is a reaction Spell to give one of your units a +2 Might boost, and you get to draw a card. So by playing it, you can potentially keep a unit from dying to an attack or a spell while also not falling on card resources thanks to the draw ability.

Ideally, we want to hide Stand United instead of paying the 3 Energy to play. This does come with restrictions, but we’ll hide it on the battlefield where we expect to need it the most.

Pit Rookie is a 2 Might unit that lets you buff another one of your units. This lets you use that unit to conquer or defend a battlefield or even activate certain abilities by paying the buff.

Buff Synergy

Mistfall
Wildclaw Shaman
Bilgewater Bully

Mistfall lets you pay a buff to Ready your exhausted unit. This enables you to move a unit from your base to a battlefield on the turn they’re played, allowing for more aggressive turns or even having more units on a battlefield to defend it. Wildclaw Shaman can ready himself if he pays a buff.

If Bilgewater Bully is buffed, you get to move him from one battlefield to another, which can be extremely useful if you’re trying to take over another battlefield but need the additional Might to conquer.

Udyr Wildman

Udyr Wildman is a versatile card, giving you 4 options to choose from when you spend a buff. Depending on the state of the game, you’ll choose the best abilities you need to control the board. You can activate Udyr Wildman’s ability multiple times a turn, but you can’t pick the same ability.

Combat Tricks

Charm
Challenge

Charm lets you force an opponent into a showdown they’re not willing to take, giving you an advantage to get the kill and weaken the opponent’s side. Charm can also move a unit off a battlefield to make it easier for you to conquer it.

Upgrade Your Deck

Lee Sin Ascetic
Defy
Wind Wall

Lee Sin Ascetic can buff himself and isn’t limited to one buff only. The longer he sticks in play, the tankier he becomes, and along with his Shield keyword, he can be a tough unit for the opposing player to remove.

Defy adds to your defensive strategy, letting you counter a spell with a cost of 4 or more, which can shut down a massive play your opponent is relying on to conquer a battlefield.

Similar to Defy, Windwall gets to counter an opponent’s spell, but it’s not restricted to the cost of the spell. It’s an expensive spell, and including it will depend on the meta.

Zhonya's Hourglass
Dragon's Rage
Carnivorous Snapvine

To make sure you don’t lose board presence, Zhonya’s Hourglass can keep one of your units from getting killed. However, that unit has to go back to your base exhausted, but at least you still have it in play, ready to attack a battlefield on the upcoming turn.

Dragon’s Rage lets you move an opponent’s units and have them battle another one of the opponent’s units at that destination. So you want to move their units strategically, either killing both of them or having one of them get killed to weaken their overall board presence. It’s a strong spell to weaken the opponent’s control over a specific battlefield or even two, and allow your units to then move in and finish the job.

Carnivorous Snapvine can help with board control, potentially killing one of the opponent’s units at a battlefiend and making it easier for you to conquer it.

We want to remove cards like Mountain Drake, Stormclaw Ursine, Bilgewater Bully, and Wildclaw Shaman.
